When many couples are graced with a the birth of their first baby, they tend to be married and to some extent they are tied to a particular area due to mortgage and job commitments. This article will talk about how travelling the world with a toddler is still possible.
I am in the fortunate position, in terms of freedom, of having a toddler but no large financial commitments. But for those with a mortgage there are still many ways you can fulfil your dreams of travelling the world. If you are serious about world travel, then asking work for a sabbatical and renting your house out for a year is a very real possibility. If you go through an agency, then whilst you are travelling around the world they will look after rent payments for you.
Before your world trip, the key is preparation. Youll need to study the countries you wish to visit, and ensure you have the necessary immunisations visas. Then depending on your intentions you could either book connecting flights and accommodation in advance, or for the more adventurous you could simply buy an open round the world ticket, and find accommodation as you backpack your way around the world. The latter being the much cheaper option, and perhaps the most fun. If you plan on working whilst you are abroad you will need to research working visas, but unfortunately these are often difficult to obtain whilst travelling with dependants. Think about work you could do cash in hand though, every little helps:)
